Foody alert: vidSkype TV chefs

It's a small Skype promotion for a good cause. The Food Network, a US cable channel, and Skype are auctioning video calls with chefs Emeril Lagasse (a charming New Orleans favorite, known for saying "let's turn things up a notch" and "Bamm!!!!") and Bobby Flay (telegenic with a tough New York attitude). Skype recentralizes marketing in London

Skype moved marketing functions from countries back to London in a reorganization announced yesterday. About 40 of the 516 people working at Skype worldwide are affected, 26 of those shifting roles or locations and 14 who are leaving or who have yet to find another job at Skype or another eBay company.

Skype doubled its headcount this year, hiring 298 people since 1 January. Henry Gomez, Skype's global marketing officer, told continue reading.....

I bought the Logitech headphones, keyed in a user name and password and entered the voucher number that came with the headphones. Once I heard a guy trying to talk to me but he could not hear me. Now I hear the musical tomes when I try to test but the womans voice comes out over the computer and my voicemail is silent when played back. The blue light is on, the plus sign has been clicked a lot and the in and out volume on my system preferences is set for the logitech headset and the volume is set in the middle. I keep e-mailing Skipe but never hear back from them. Any suggestons?

There is another service that does P2P streaming as well - Peer Impact. www.peerimpact.com They do streaming using TV shows and movies such as Firefly and V for Vendetta.

I just found something strange, that's not exactly an emoticon, but... well, his hidden, up to my knowledge :)

Try to send to someone the following text (without quotes): "B)"
...and see that it will become "omg, bug!".
Well, at least in Skype 1.3.0.53_API for Linux.
Would it be a bug alert for developers? Who knows?

Annoyingly Gizmo Project got there first, perhaps that's why there is no direct skype input. I tried that once last year and it worked very well with gizmo, but I dont want to clutter my desktop with one client per occasion ;-(
