hello Phil,
I don't understand: your title says "Top Ten SkypeOut Destinations" and your second column states "Online Pop". What is the relation?
The number 38 in that column for UK should probably be 380 ???
And you state: "India is not yet served by SkypeOut". Do you mean SkypeIn, instead of SkypeOut? Because every country is served by SkypeOut if you can put credit on your account.
I also tried to find the "Data: Skype.com SkypeOut Dialing Wizard", but could not find it.
And i am really curious what the numbers mean (you know this :-) and where they come from!
Regards,
Jean

My understanding is that in Phil's table a 3rd column is missing: it should show the total amount of SkypeOut credit spent by each country to see what is the ratio of SkypeOut credit to Online Pop and to the total Population for each country. Without that 3rd column I don't understand Phil's table.
Regards,
Peter

Hi, Jean.
First, the source. The "select country or region" pick list starts with the "Top 10 Destinations".
The other data is from the CIA World Factbook. One column is total population, the last is people online. I thought it was interesting that England's 38 million netizens outSkypeOutted U.S.'s 204 million netizens. Skype doesn't say how many Skypers are in each country, but this is a rough indicator of the popularity of Skype's principal money maker.
About India, PayPal doesn't accept connections to banks in India except for accepting deposits. So you cannot pay for SkypeOut credits.

Thanks Phil,
Now i understand ... very clever and interesting!
And i didn't notice there was a "Top 10"!
I never noticed the CIA world fact book had information about Internet users!!!! (and i used it myself for some blogs!)
About India ... ok for PayPal, but what about credit cards?
You rough indicator is anyway interesting ... now that i understood! :-)

You can buy SkypeOut credits for users in India using a credit card with a US billing address. However, you may only use the card to buy credits for one Skype account.
