Freedom on 900 MHz

What a treat. What a wow! I got myself a CS50 USB Plantronics headset. It rocks! No Bluetooth blues; no invisible 10 meter tether that works out to be only 10 feet if there is a wall between you and the computer. At 900

MHz this goes through wall after wall, after wall without a drop in sound quality or the drop of a vowel.

You can hang it off your ear or use a headband.

Plantronics claim a range of 200 feet. Well I believe them. I tested it through 5 walls and 120 feet. Not a single dropout. Private too… encrypted.

After 3 years on Skype tethered by a Plantronics DSP 400 I feel tremendous freedom.
I experienced one major issue. After three-days of thrills I lost all functionality. Forever. My wife, road warrior Linda, decided the CS 50 was just what she needed. She installs EMR Software for Medical Clinics and needs to be in touch all day with Headquarters as she wanders around the clinic.

Can I afford another $250?

I have to admit i was wondering when somebody would come up with this solution. If portable phones can exist with FM signal, why not portable headsets!

But, i will wait until another brand comes up with a similar device: i still use a Plantronics headset, but i had technical problems in the past with the headsets i bought for my wife and kids, and got no help (even no reply) from Plantronics! Even when sending an e-mail to the new appointed Belgian Manager, no reply!

If they can't handle customer complaints ... i pass!

Hey Jean!

I agree. I have the same support problem. One day soon we will have a better choice. Right now I need to get untethered.

I think Linda likes to have me tethered. (grin)

Thanks for dropping by...

Regards, Bill
