It is easy to use.
1. Click on the V4S icon in the system tray.
2. Log in to your account
3. Click on Send Message

4. Click on Show Contacts. All my Skype contacts are shown and my Outlook along with my Outlook contacts. (Note: your contacts are not sent anywhere; they remain on your PC!)
5. Click on the contact you wish to send a Voice Message. (In this case I select Ian McCarthy, VP of Marketing from Orb Networks.
6. Enter a subject (optional)
7. Tick “Include a voice message” and then click on the radio button to start recording your message and click this same button to stop recording. Click “Send” bottom left hand corner of the message window.

What happens next (depending how you set up your V4S configuration) is this:
Ian get the following link in his Skype Chat Message Window.
He also gets the SMS message above on his mobile device.
He also (optional in his configuration) gets a e-mail with and instant one click link to the VM.
VM’s follow Ian everywhere. He accesses his V4S messages over the highest levels of HTTPS encryption wherever possible (e.g. 256 on PCs) and where that isn't possible (e.g. on his Nokia 3650), the message is still a password-protected stream.

I get a copy of the Voice Message in my Outlook inbox and another copy sent to my “Sent Messages” V4S.
Here is how I configured my V4S account.

Note: because I live in Canada I selected a special link to my Rogers mobile service for SMS text messaging.
V4S is a simple, but comprehensive voice answering/messaging service for my Skype and Outlook contacts (any e-mail). Voice recording and play back is podcast quality which means we might expect this functionality in the future. In fact, because the technology is server-based on your desktop the future functionality will likely be very rich indeed.
V4S is worth trying even if you have Skype VM as I do. If you don’t have Skype VM then I think this is a must have product for most Skype users. Download your free copy here.
And get the User Guide too. There is a lot more to learn about and it is quite well done.
