September 21, 2005 03:03 PM

Topics: software

PowerGramo records your Skype calls automatically. I used an earlier version and it was easy and convenient. (any podcasters listening?) Apparently free, for now. CORRECTION: It is trialware: US$19.50 after a seven day trial.

If you're looking for free software to record voip calls, check out Gizmo Project. Also, Last time I checked calls to the US were cheaper than skype.

I tried it. The call had too many random crackles and the calling party (me) has volume which was too low. Also it saves it in Org format instead of the more popular MP3. But the good thing is it is very easy to use. In fact super simple unlike the VAC setup.

>The call had too many random crackles
What you hear is what you get, right? :)
PG would not adhibit the noise

>calling party (me) has volume which was too low.
reason is tracing..
now the banlance parament is adapted for most people'sound device

>Also it saves it in Org format instead of the more popular MP3.
MP3 will be supported

>But the good thing is it is very easy to use. In fact super simple unlike the VAC setup.

Powergramo now has a different business model; they no longer have a trial version: a free basic version that you can use to record one-to-one calls and a pro version where you can record conference calls. I won't use the pro version features much, but I like the product so much that I'm going to buy it anyway. Excellent product; definitely worth the $20.
