Skype Journal: Right click for more search results

April 8, 2005 05:35 AM

Looking for other Skypers? Right click column headings for more optionsSkype lists a few columns for results. Click on a column heading, like "Language". Skype sorts the results.

But there's more.

It's not obvious, but if you right-click or Option+click on a column heading, Skype shows a menu. Choose "Display Columns" for a list of available fields. The ones shown will have a check next to the name. Pick a name from the menu to add or remove it from the results.

I'm in North America, a pretty big place, so I often look for people by state or metroplex. I add the State column and a few phone number columns, the better to search by area code. I'm also looking for specific companies and interests, so I'll show the About, E-mail, and Home Page columns. This helps you find the right person when you wade through many results.
