VoipBuster smacks down new Skype pricing
I love wicked publicists!
Here's small-guy VoipBuster making fun of big corporate Skype just hours after Skype's announcement on its home page and in a news release sent through the same channels Skype uses.
Skype increases all prices!

Cologne (ANTARA News/PRNewswire-AsiaNet) - They kept millions of users waiting for more than a month, but today Skype (eBay) finally announced their new "pricing strategy"....
VoipBuster could not believe it: instead of lowering their prices they decided to put a new charge of 3,9 eurocents on all calls!! For almost all Skype users this means a price increase of over 50%!
Time to switch, because VoipBuster, the biggest rival of Skype, announced today more new countries can be called for FREE. Making the price difference even bigger!
VoipBuster a service of Betamax GmbH & Co.

"The new pricing strategy will provide over 136 million registered Skype users with more exciting and cost-effective ways of keeping in touch with their friends and family across the world."
What is exciting about higher prices???
Which is the cost-effective part for the customers?
Goodbye-Skype!

I think skype will be defeated by others finally because of their worst customer service.

Phil, have you heard any actual numbers for subscribers to the US unlimited plan?
Don Albert recently said "We are very pleased with the terrific response to the Skype Unlimited Calling plan." Thanks.

About Voipbuster - Checked their web sight. Free calling is only if you deposit $$$ in your account every 120 days. There is no indication on their web sight whether you need to have $1, $10, or $100 dollars in your account to obtain the free? calling. You can only find that out AFTER you sign up and download their phone program. Thanks, but no thanks. I prefer to know what something is going to cost me, even if it is free :-), BEFORE I sign up.

I've used VoipBuster, and it works great. The unlimited plan by skype is useless to me. I don't call in the North America. By increasing their (skype) price, many are disappointed. Good bye skype. And... Voip is cheaper too. Much cheaper

Skype Pro has not started yet, but Voipbuster already came up with a better plan.
Voipbuster launches Voipbuster Pro! Same quality as Skype Pro only 60% cheaper!
The advantages of using Voipbuster Pro instead of Skype Pro are:
-you only pay € 10 for a whole year of unlimited calling (with Skype Pro you will pay € 24 *)
-with Skype Pro you can only use it for national calls; with Voipbuster Pro you can make national as well as international calls
-with Skype Pro you only buy 1 unlimited destination; with Voipbuster Pro you buy unlimited calls to 44 destinations
-Skype Pro will be available in 19 countries, Voipbuster Pro in 44 countries!
For more information please visit http://www.voipbusterpro.com/en/index.html
Best regards,
Voipbuster
* The connection fee is € 0.039 per call for both Skype Pro and Voipbuster Pro

Don't agree with david in regards of the 3.9 euro ct. tarrif. I have been using Voipbuster of the last three month, deposited 10.50 euro on my account (the minimal required amount), and after frequent use, by calling a landline in Australia, I still have the 10.50 euro on my account. My conclusion: Viopbuster is a great alternative !

David was talking about Voipbuster Pro. Voipbuster Pro is a different program. Mark, you are using Voipbuster which does not charge a connection fee, but you only have 300 minutes per week. with pro, you have unlimited calling.

Fair Use and Restrictions
VoipBuster Pro considers a maximum of 300 minutes per week of free calls, measured over the last 7 days and per unique IP address as fair use. If limit is exceeded the normal rates apply. Please consult our terms of use ... http://www.voipbusterpro.com/en/free.html

Yes, VoipBuster restricts 300 mins per week. Thats alot. Even if normal rates apply, its still cheaper than SKYPE. I call to Australia and Taiwan alot. Skype would charge me twice as much.

hey everyone - voipbuster doesn't work for me any more. i keep getting the message about not enough credits. does anybody if the whole free calling promotion is over? i have not made any calls during the past 7 days, so the minutes/week rule is not the problem. -Neil neilthewiz@gmail.com
