Truphone Adds AIM to iPod/iPhone VoIP App

Truphone, the internet telephony application for mobiles, has added AOL Instant Messenger to the list of IM systems it can interact with. Now, in addition to Google Talk, Skype, Windows Live Messenger, and Yahoo, you can chat with your AIM buddies while on Truphone on an iPod Touch or iPhone.

I have written about the Truphone app before, and this AIM announcement makes the iPod/iPhone version of Truphone a much more useful portable communications platform.

Truphone is also set to make another announcement tomorrow that they are calling 'major'. I'll post about it when I get more info from Mobile World Congress.

Skype Journal columnist Jason Harris, engages communities for corporations and explores internet telephony, mobile technology, and the leaders who bring them to market on his Techcraver blog and on Twitter.

Truphone really making good effort, launching IM is very good step especially in MWC 2009, I've also Read on Yahoo Biz News that Vopium has launched its Sync Application at MWC and jajah also launched its iPod app, they are really doing very good work in VoIP technology, I think very soon these companies will remove all the barriers of communication.

I am surprised Truphone was able to get the app aproved. I thought Apple would not allow it, but I am happy they did. Now I am waiting that skype finally will produce an iphone / ipod app, that would be the perfect match for me. For now I guess I have to sign up with yet an other service or for a change, skype would open up to other VOIP services and make calls and IM possible both ways... without extra charges (see gismo5 project)
